A setup is a process that improves the playability of your instrument to its peak by performing a thorough inspection and adjustments.

Hardware/Electronics check
Truss rod adjustment
Action and nut height adjustment,
Intonation
Light cleaning of body, fretboard, neck, and headstock
Additional Charges (tasks that imply longer time to perform)
Floating tremolo bridges (Floyd Rose): $15
Evertune/Kahler: $30
Non-accessible truss rod: $20 (neck removal)
8-string (or more) Guitars: $15
6-string bass: $10
Nut filling/cutting: $20 per slot
Nut from blank: $60 (nut not included)
Neck shim: $25 (wooden shims)
